Pumping Nitrogen through our pivots is just another summer ritual for us and it is very prominent in Northeast Nebraska. There are numerous good reasons as to why we use this technique, here are few of them:  

1. In lighter and coarse soils, it allows us to spread out the applications to avoid nitrogen loss to leaching. 
2. It allows us to not put an irrigated amount of nitrogen to the entire field. 
3. This technique allows us to time the applications for when the crop is using it and we know it’s in the root zone for the stage that the crop is in. 
4. It minimizes the costs when it comes to splitting up applications versus having to make another trip with equipment to do so.
5. We can pump nitrogen no matter how big the crop is!
